SEOUL, South Korea – Kim Soo-mi got exactly what she hoped for when she woke up early Monday to watch
South Korea’s Y.E. Yang’s stunning PGA Championship victory.
“Seeing Yang ranked 110th in the world win against Tiger Woods, the best player in the world, I felt so proud
to be a Korean today,” the 44-year-old Kim said as dozens of avid golfers practiced at an indoor driving range in Bundang.
Swing instructor Kim Won-jun said he has met Yang several times.
“I personally know Yang and what distinguishes him from other players is his emotional stability,” the 43-year-old
coach said. “He is in total control during his game, so when he has the chance, he’s able to immediately seize it.”
